My Top Tips for Motivation and Staying in Shape

Find an activity that you enjoy, don’t put yourself under too much pressure, start slowly and build up your fitness from there.

Get in to a routine. This is the best way to make fitness training part of your lifestyle.

Goal setting: put short-term goals in place to help you on your way to reaching your long-term goal. I.e. if you’re preparing for a marathon you wouldn’t be expected to complete the full 26 miles during your training. You would aim to build up over time. During the first week or your training, running 5 miles would be an achievement and would set you up towards the long-term goal.

 For example;

  • • Week 1: aim for 5 miles without any time constraints
  • • Week 2: aim to run the 5 miles in a specific time.
  • • Week 3: increase the distance, etc.

By adopting this approach, you will be well on your way to reaching the ultimate goal of 26 miles.

Monitor your progress …..

Train with others, it helps to spur you on.

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, success doesn’t always go in a straight line. We all have off days, it’s just part of the process.

Above all Fitness should be fun!!
